Women starting to crack public sector glass ceiling

More
women are beginning to hold top public sector posts, according to the Equal
Opportunities Commission.

Twenty
years ago, only 5 per cent of MPs were women, compared with 18 per cent today.

Women
also hold chief executive posts in 29 per cent of NHS bodies. And big
improvements have been made in the Civil Service, where women now make up
almost a quarter of top management.  www.eoc.org.uk
