BackCheck, the largest non-US owned background-checking company in the UK, has announced a new contract with Pimlico Plumbers.

BackCheck will be providing background checks on all new recruits for the plumbing firm.

Pimlico Plumbers has over 150 members of staff and wants all employees to undergo a disclosure check.

BackCheck will pick up on any criminal offences and will verify all claims made on applicants’ CVs, they will also check that potential employees are entitled to work in the UK.

Dominic Garaldi, HR manager for Pimlico Plumbers, said: “Technically, CRB checks are only required for those working with children or vulnerable adults but we want all our customers to feel safe in the knowledge that the backgrounds of our employees have been thoroughly checked.

"Whilst at work, our engineers often come into contact with children and vulnerable adults and we feel it is responsible to do everything we can to make sure our staff are of the utmost trustworthiness.”

Chris Hawkins, Assistant Vice President of Operations said: “Pimlico Plumbers takes a very conscientious approach to recruitment. It is vital for their good reputation that all staff are honourable. Pimlico Plumbers asks all interview candidates if they are happy to be checked and we carry out the process promptly and discretely, before any job offer is made.”
