Tunnock’s plant workers plan two-day strike over pay

Workers at the Tunnock’s confectionery plant in Lanarkshire have called for a two-day strike over a wage increase dispute, the Scottish Sun has reported.

Around 500 staff at the plant are due to walk out on Thursday 23 September and Tuesday 28 September after rejecting a pay rise of approximately 2%, the news report claimed.

The plant, famous for producing teacakes, snowballs and caramel wafers, will be without its 500 staff for a total of four days, because of the holiday closures on Friday and Monday.
