The HR Dept, based at Winterbourne Down in South Gloucestershire, is continuing its busy expansion programme with the opening of two new offices in Kettering, Northamptonshire and Uxbridge in West London. The new operations take the number of HR Dept offices to 29 in total, with five having opened in the last 12 months
The company, launched in 2003 by Sue Tumelty, a senior experienced human resources professional, now works with thousands of SME firms across the country acting as an in-house HR department and delivering advice on employment issues including recruiting and retaining staff, redundancy, disciplinary procedures, maternity leave, contracts of employment, equal rights opportunities, interviewing, training and development.
The challenges facing smaller employers during the recession, such as redundancy, staff re-motivation and putting in place the right team to take the business forward during recovery, alongside the need to remain legally compliant and avoid the risk of tribunals, are contributing to growing demand for The HR Dept’s services, says Managing Director Sue Tumelty,
“These are very tough times for employers and increasingly SME businesses need practical, pragmatic and affordable advice to take them through the minefield of employment legislation and the best way to handle staff issues.” she explains.
