Neck and shoulder exercise DVD helps prevent musculoskeletal disorders

A DVD presenting a range of exercises for the neck, shoulders and arms is a useful tool in helping to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in performing musicians, according to a recent study.

The research participants reported that the DVD benefited muscle strengthening, ease of movement and improved flexibility when playing instruments. It was rated “better” or “much better” than face-to-face exercise classes because of its convenience and detailed demonstrations of exercises.
