Cegos unveils international e-learning solutions at World of Learning 2008

by Personnel Today 26 Nov 2008

Cegos UK, part of Europe’s largest learning and development organisation, today unveiled e-learning solutions by Cegos at the World of Learning Conference and Exhibition 2008 in Birmingham.

e-learning solutions by Cegos consists of almost 150 online training modules immediately available for the UK, with a further 100 modules coming online during 2009.

e-learning solutions by Cegos combines international best practice training techniques with market leading content.

Available in seven different languages, the skills-based programmes can be used as stand-alone learning tools or as integrated solutions that can be readily deployed internationally.

e-learning solutions by Cegos includes leadership and management, sales and negotiation, purchasing, finance, marketing, project management, customer relationship management, personal development and human resources programmes.

The availability of such a comprehensive, integrated and cost-effective learning and development solution comes at a time when market conditions are forcing companies to evaluate more closely the investment they are prepared to make in training.

Government research shows that companies that don’t train their staff are 2.5 times more likely to fail, than those that do.

A new report from Cranfield School of Management, commissioned by government body learndirect, found that 44% of companies who invest in training save money in the long run (through increased productivity and/or lower recruitment costs), 33% see improved staff motivation and 52% increased employee retention.

Said Francis Marshall, Managing Director of Cegos UK:

“When times are tough it’s even more important to develop internal talent. Those who invest in developing core professional skills such as leading change, sales and negotiation skills for example, will be better placed to ride out the storm and win through when the economy recovers.”

“Cegos’ e-learning and blended learning solutions remove the key barriers to training by making learning and development easy to do, less time consuming and more cost-effective – all important in the current market when ‘bite-sized’ learning and less time spent away from the desk on training courses means more time being productive.”
