Ellesmere Port training provider signs skills pledge

An Ellesmere Port training company is urging businesses to follow their lead and sign up to the Government’s Skills Pledge.

Protocol Skills, which runs training programmes nationwide, has signed up to the Pledge, which is a voluntary commitment to drive business forward through employee training. 

Now the training provider is encouraging its clients and other local businesses to do the same so they can benefit from the free services the pledge entitles companies to through the Train to Gain scheme.

By signing the pledge businesses have access to free advice about the best training for their organisation, can be put in touch with training providers that can work with their business and receive help in accessing government funding for training.

Dan Wright, CEO of Protocol Skills, said:

“As a work based learning provider we fully understand that engaging our colleagues through training and development is critical to our business success and positively impacts upon our learners and the companies with whom we partner.

“Signing the Pledge demonstrates our commitment to the enhancement of the knowledge and skills of our people and to the continuous improvement of the services we deliver.

“Since 2000 the number of people achieving vocational qualifications through Protocol has increased by 500%, as more businesses embrace the opportunity to improve their business through staff learning.  We hope that other businesses recognise the benefits of investing in staff development and visit the Learning & Skills Council’s website to sign up.”

According to research from the Learning and Skills Council’s National Employer Service almost 90 per cent of 201 companies polled said that training had already resulted in demonstrable benefits ranging from increased productivity to better employee commitment and involvement in the organisation and improved employee morale.
