Retail managers can win places at training summer school

Retail managers are being offered the chance to win free places at a training summer school to be held at Oxford University.

Sector skills council Skillsmart Retail and industry body Retail Trust are offering 10 bursaries – worth £1,500 each – to shop managers who want to attend the summer school, which will be held at Keble College on 16 to 22 August.

Skillsmart said it will give attendees “a chance to deal with the problems and challenges encountered when running a retail business and focus on leadership, finance, merchandising, marketing and retail space. There will be guest lecturers, issue-driven discussions, team-building events and a black-tie ball.”
