A GP’s job is to help and support employers

What planet does Dr Peter Holden live on to say he would discourage GPs from spending extra time on the remarks section of sicknotes as it was not their job to help employers (News, Personnel Today, 7 August)?

GPs must help and support employers. How can employers offer occupational health, welfare and rehabilitation following sickness without co-operation from GPs? GPs charge enough for their medical reports as it is when requested by employers.
