Richard Leech, head of learning for Grass Roots, presented at the Internal Branding and Employee Engagement Forum at the Grange City Hotel in London on 11-12 September, 2007.
He was joined on stage by Mike Thompson, head of the customer journey team at Barclays, to jointly showcase The Way Ahead project that is currently being implemented throughout the retail banking estate in the U.K.
The presentation revealed how The Way Ahead has been designed to engage Barclay’s employees to deliver the best customer service on the high street.
Leech and Thompson covered the communication strategies and innovative learning, measurement and reward approaches being used to inspire employees.
This included playing a four minute video created by production partner Juice, which captures the essence of the six ‘Be’ behaviours that are introduced at the start of The Way Ahead programme.
Richard Leech commented: “It’s been challenging and fun to work with Barclays on this brief. Being joined on stage by our client suggests they share our faith in the potential of this programme to make a real difference in terms of employee engagement and ultimately, the customer experience”.
