Thales Training & Consultancy Launches Online Training Courses

60 minute online courses designed to meet changing needs of training

Thales Training & Consultancy, a provider of integrated training services, today announces the launch of six online courses to support personal development, management and leadership, and project management. The 60 minute courses offer a flexible alternative to traditional classroom based learning. The new courses will remove the need for travel, as well as reducing the amount of time the trainee needs to spend out of the office, ultimately reducing the overall costs to training. Each course is fully interactive and provides the participant with a skill that they can take away from the session and use immediately.

“Whilst classroom training is a key element of learning and development, we’re finding that more of our customers are looking for alternatives, especially when time and cost are at the forefront of their minds,” said Fiona Doran-Smith, L&D Consultant, People Development Manager, Thales Training & Consultancy. “Our new online courses offer participants the opportunity to learn from the comfort of their home or office, at a time that is convenient to them. Also, as employees have different learning styles, the online courses offer an alternative approach, helping individuals learn and develop.”

“Today, organisations are looking to take a more blended approach to learning and development. By combining a range of learning approaches such as classroom, online and coaching, employers can support their employees learning and development even further by offering them a bespoke programme to meet their  learning needs.” concluded Doran-Smith.

All of the online courses are fully interactive, allowing participants to speak with the trainer as well as seeing the trainer’s screen, the trainer can share a variety of information such as; slides, emails, documents, videos and internet pages. There is also a virtual “hands up” option so that the trainer knows if a participant has a question. The trainer can also monitor who is paying attention, as the software highlights anyone who doesn’t have the training screen maximised. The sessions can also include tests and polls to test learning and keep attention.

The online courses are available on Thales Training & Consultancy’s public training programme and can be used as stand-alone training, refresher sessions or used to support other training activities. The six online courses being launched today are:

·         Managing change
·         10 top tips for a winning report
·         Tools for managing small projects
·         Saying No – learn to be more assertive
·         Put power in your points – develop your PowerPoint skills
·         The art of prioritising – improve your time management
