How long?
The course can be taken in a year, full-time, or over two years part-time.
Entry requirements
Students will be expected to hold an honours degree in any discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification. The university expects at least three years’ appropriate work experience, but this requirement may be waived in exceptional circumstances – such as where an applicant shows a high level of academic achievement and motivation.
Modules
Students take six core management modules, three of which are compulsory – strategic management, organisational behaviour and human resource management. A further three modules are chosen from: marketing; managerial accounting; project management; finance and financial management; business economics; and small business management. There are three compulsory elements to the human resource management module: employee relations, human resource development and strategic human resource management. Students take a further elective module – either business statistics or public management – and are expected to complete a project or a 15,000-20,000-word dissertation.

Career opportunities
The programme aims to provide students with core skills in human resource management along with an awareness of current issues in leading and developing people in complex organisations. Those who take the course will be intending to pursue their career in human resource management at high operational and strategic levels.
