PgCert/PgDip/MSc Human Resource Management, The Robert Gordon University

How Long?
The course is available for study by full-time or part-time on-campus. It is possible to transfer from one study mode to another should circumstances change.
For those studying full-time the duration is: PgCert- 15 weeks(1 semester) ; PgDip- 30 weeks (2 semesters): MSc – an additional 15 weeks following the completion of the Diploma
For those studying part-time, normally students will undertake I year for each stage.

Entry Requirements
This course will appeal to a wide range of potential candidates: graduates with a good honours degree or applicants with significant management experience (8-10years)
   
Before submitting the university application form, students should complete the course questionnaire. Students are expected to attend an informal interview before an offer is given for the course to obtain essential information on course requirements. For students outwith the local area, this will be undertaken via the telephone or email.
 
Students wishing to transfer from other CIPD centres must receive written permission from the CIPD before applying for the course.

Modules on this course can be taken on a Continuing Professional Development basis.

Modules
The modules offered include: People Management with Business Skills; Managing in a Business Context; Managing Finance and Information; People Management and Development; Personal and Professional Development; Learning and Development; Employee Relations; People Resourcing: Employee Reward

Completion of Postgraduate Certificate Human Resource Management gives full exemption from Core Management and Core Personnel and Development and Licentiate Membership of CIPD. The PgCert is awarded after successful completion of four modules provided one module is People Management and Development.
Completion of Postgraduate Diploma Human Resource Management gives full exemption from the electives and Graduate Membership of CIPD. The PgDip is awarded after completion of the taught stage.

Career Opportunities
The course prepares graduates for a professional career in Human Resource Management and related occupational fields. The full-time programme includes a 25 day placement in an HR or Development function organised by our placement unit
The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). This means that, in addition to obtaining a University qualification upon successful completion of the course, you are also able to obtain Graduate membership of the CIPD, without taking any further examinations.
