Air your views on blended learning to win a camera

Training Magazine is teaming up with blended learning publisher Balance
Learning to carry out a major survey into the benefits of blended learning.

It aims to provide an insight into its applications and current practice,
and the survey results should be useful to training professionals considering
implementing blended learning strategies.

Readers who complete a questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw to
win a superb Nikon Coolpix 4300 – an easy-to-use, compact and lightweight
high-quality digital camera. The questionnaire will be published in our June
issue or you can fill one in online at www.balancelearning.co.uk.

The survey’s results will be published in November’s edition of Training
Magazine.

Queen honours trainers

Companies from the education and training sectors are among 120
organisations celebrating after being awarded the UK’s highest honour for
business success – a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This year’s winners include
the commercial arm of Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University, Univation Ltd; and
Promethean Ltd, developers of ACTIVboardPlus.

NHS push on leaders

More than 500 managers and service team leaders from across the
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are set to benefit from a new customised
training programme, Development for Leaders, (D4L)."Managers can improve
both how they manage the existing business and how we develop and grow that
business to encompass all the opportunities available in the future," said
personnel, organisational learning and communications director Jacolyn
Fergusson.

Around 2,500 engineering apprentices are being encouraged to say exactly
what they think about their training through a new web-based survey.

The system is being piloted in partner-ship with eight leading Group
Training Associations and major employers. The survey results will be used by
the Government’s working group on reform in vocational education for 14-19
