The
Employers’ Forum on Disability wants bosses to change the way they think to
create a diverse and more productive workforce.
The
forum has launched the UK’s first reference guide for employers looking to
retain and recruit people with disabilities.
The
guidance covers a range of employers’ questions on disability, drawing on the
experience of companies already successful in this area.
Case
studies take managers through a selection of adjustments for a best practice
approach to creating a diverse workforce.
The
guide, Solutions at Work, also explains the Disability Discrimination Act
(1995) and its implications in the run up to 2004, when all companies will be
accountable under law.
