A
proposed strike of college lecturers, which could have disrupted the education
of hundreds of thousands of students, has been called off.
The
lecturers, who belong to the NATFHE union, have decided to halt the industrial
action and hold more talks with principles.

The
further education professionals had planned a one-day walk-out on 30 Jan over
pay.
