Ergonomic focus at IOSH

IOSH will be holding its annual dinner in Edinburgh on Friday 15 November at
the Murrayfield Stadium. As well as featuring the awards ceremony, an
after-dinner speaker and ceilidh, this prestigious event will also be marked by
the official bestowal of the Royal Charter of Incorporation.

The festivities will be preceded by the Institution’s Annual General Meeting
at 4pm and, earlier in the day, a special seminar on managing musculoskeletal
disorders.

Jointly organised by IOSH’s Scottish branches, in association with HSE
Scotland, the seminar aims to provide a better understanding of the scale and
causes of musculoskeletal disorders, while guiding delegates on how to input
more effectively to prevention and management programmes at their workplace.

Opening with the welcome address from the Health and Safety Executive
Director, Scotland, Stewart Campbell, the event also features presentations
from leading musculoskeletal experts and authors from organisations such as the
Health and Safety Committee, the Health Ergonomics Policy Unit and the Scottish
National Blood Transfusion Service.

It will also draw from two detailed case studies to enhance delegates’
understanding and practical application of theory.

The seminar fee, including refreshments, lunch and delegate pack, is £85
(+VAT) for IOSH members and £105 (+VAT) for non-members. In addition, a special
reduced seminar fee of £65 (+VAT) is available to IOSH members who are also
attending the AGM, the annual dinner and the awards ceremony.
