The
Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas) is to begin conciliatory talks between Swansea
Council and Unison today.
The
council asked Acas to
conciliate between the two parties to help resolve the current industrial
dispute with its IT staff.
Chris
Holley, council leader, said, “I am delighted that Acas has been able to begin the conciliatory talks
immediately.
“The
strike involving IT staff is now in its fifth week. During that time the
council has held a series of informal talks with Unison.
“We
want to resolve this dispute as quickly as possible, so that our IT staff can
return to work.
“I
am hopeful that Acas’s
experience and expertise will help the Council and Unison progress towards a
resolution in this dispute.”
