Most employers provide training in some shape or form, finds the CBI’s latest Employment Trends survey.
Its study of 420 companies revealed that 98% of employers claim to provide training, up from 90% the previous year. Apprenticeships are offered by just under half (48%) of businesses. Nearly three-quarters (72%) said they had carried out a training analysis.
Employers feel they are raising awareness of the world of work among school-leavers by offering work experience. But the overwhelming majority (88%) said they would do more with additional help from the government.
