Amicus union agrees information and consultation deal with Trinity Mirror Printing

Trade union Amicus has agreed a model information and consultation agreement with Trinity Mirror Printing after several months of negotiations.

TMP is part of the Trinity Mirror Group, the largest publisher of newspapers in the UK. The agreement will apply to the 1,600 workers at nine major UK printing sites that the company owns.

It will give employees a new right to specific information about the business and the right to be consulted about a whole range of issues, including any business decisions that may affect their employment.

Steve Sibbald, the union’s national officer, who negotiated the agreement, said: “Both Amicus members and the company are keen to ensure that this agreement will work for the benefit of both employees and company alike. The agreement is designed to encourage partnership, openness and co-operation.
