n Sue Ashtiany (pictured), head of employment law at Nabarro Nathanson, has been reappointed as a commissioner to the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC). Commissioners are appointed by the secretary of state for the DTI to oversee the workings of the EOC, usually for a three-year period.

n RWE Innogy has promoted Saudagar Singh to HR director. His role will cover the whole group, which includes its retail business, npower. His move comes as part of the company’s general organisational review, and the decision to combine the various HR functions from across RWE Innogy to create a more effective approach to HR issues.

n Corus, the international metals group, has appointed Staf Wouters as its new HR director. Originally from Belgium, Wouters has previously held HR positions with PepsiCo in London, Bern and Istanbul. He replaces Allan Johnston, who has taken early retirement from the company.
