Aviva puts recognition in the spotlight

by Personnel Today 29 Jul 2009
by Personnel Today 29 Jul 2009

Aviva is putting the contributions of individuals and teams into focus by introducing a new UK-wide reward and recognition scheme.

The ‘Spotlight’ scheme enables 22,000 staff at the UK’s largest insurer to thank colleagues and to nominate them for additional rewards in recognition of their efforts.

The points-based scheme, created and run by leading motivation specialists P&MM Motivation, operates through a comprehensive website. Through the site, employees can send e-cards as a way of saying thank you, as well as putting forward individuals and teams for additional awards.

Nominations are submitted to appropriate managers who can then decide what level of reward has been earned. Points are awarded and placed in the individual’s account on the website so that each person can select their own prize. The site provides a range of more than 500 gifts, including cinema tickets, wine, chocolates, watches, jewellery, vouchers and experience days.

The scheme runs within My Aviva Reward, a one-stop pay and benefits site that is part of the Aviva rebrand.

Helen Jackson, rewards director at Aviva, commented: “Spotlight is about saying thank you to everyone who displays the behaviours that live up to the Aviva brand. It is a very impressive scheme that is easy to use and implement.”

John Sylvester, Executive Director at P&MM Motivation, said: “Spotlight is the epitome of a superb modern reward and recognition scheme. It will play a major role in boosting performance and team spirit at Aviva.”
