Broadcasting union Bectu has secured a 100% vote in favour of union recognition for catering staff working at ITV’s base in Manchester.
The recognition agreement will cover catering staff who work at ITV’s Manchester site and are employed by Baxter Storey.
Sharon Elliott, BECTU official, said: “Today’s announcement from Acas that Baxter Storey staff have voted unanimously for Bectu recognition is excellent news. Our agreement will give staff every opportunity to influence decisions on their future working conditions.”

Baxter Storey, a contract catering company based in Wokingham, signed an agreement with ITV in 2004 which resulted in the transfer of staff to Baxter Storey from ITV catering operations in Manchester, Leeds and London.
Talks will be arranged shortly to set out the details of the Bectu/Baxter Storey recognition agreement.
