Two big names in the e-learning world – Docent and Click2learn plan to merge
in a bid to become the largest provider to the world’s top organisations. The
merger will result in the biggest customer base in the industry, comprising
more than 600 companies.
"Although organisations across the globe recognise our products are
critical to staying competitive in today’s environment, the buying decision has
continued to be confusing given the lack of a clear leader," says
Click2learn chief executive and chairman Kevin Oakes, who will be president of
the combined company.

Docent provides integrated software solutions whereas Click2learn has made
its name in productivity tools, such as its e-learning software, ToolBook
