Glitz,
glamour and a very tall drag queen: it can only mean one thing – the Personnel
Today Awards.
This
year the awards were held at the Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane in London,
where the great and the good gathered for some well-deserved backslapping in a
South American carnival atmosphere.
Guests
were greeted by South American dancers and the sight of more than a thousand
floating balloons hanging in the air above the dining tables.
Awards
presenter, Lily Savage had the crowd in stitches as she presented the awards,
while blurring the line between HR and "the people who make sure the
toilets are safe".
To
fit in with the carnival theme, one lucky Personnel Today reader, Clare Hasler
of Arriva, won a holiday to Brazil courtesy of Xchanging.
After
the presentations, the dance floor shook to the sound of Latin rhythms from the
band and several hundred pairs of feet
salsa dancing the night away.
Veteran newscaster, Angela Ripon, presented the Age Positive
at Work Award and afterwards praised the "superb atmosphere and terrific
camaraderie".
