One British-based company and four US-owned organisations appear in a ranking of the top 10 best companies to work for in India.
The list, compiled by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, saw HSBC ranked the 10th, while the four US-based employers in the rankings include Johnson & Johnson and three IT firms.
The remaining five employers were from India.
This is the sixth annual survey of the Best Companies to Work for in India and more than 130 organisations registered to take part.
In this year’s survey, meaningful work and rewards, greater control over careers, increased focus on learning and development and individual attention emerged as the key expectations of employees.
The leading companies in the survey have all made substantial investment in their people, infrastructure, facilities, technology and HR systems.
Stock options, flexible working, telecommuting, grievance committees and customised training and development opportunities were standard at the top organisations.
