BT
is to implement new software to support the management of almost 100,000 global
employees, by allowing HR managers to go online and assign assessments or
training and manage resource allocation in real time.
BT,
one of the largest non-government employers in the UK, is using the technology
to cut costs and improve the efficiency of its HR teams.
The
software by PeopleSoft will allow line
managers to instantly ensure that employees are assigned to the appropriate
project, and that the HR team has an ongoing up-to-date history of each
employee and their skill sets.

improve productivity and ultimately customer service, HR executives need a
comprehensive view of performance data to make intelligent staffing and rewards
decisions,” said Margaret Savage, director of HR strategy at BT.
