UK
rail operator Network Rail has signed up staffing firm Spring to handle its
temporary, general and IT personnel requirements across the UK.
Spring
Personnel, Spring’s general staffing business, will handle Network Rail’s
UK-wide temporary commercial and financial staffing requirements, while Spring
Technology Staffing Services has been named as the preferred supplier for the
provision and management of all its IT contract personnel.
Richard
Barfield, chief executive officer of the Spring Group, said: “We look forward
to building our relationship with Network Rail as we continue to support them
with their human capital requirements.”

The
contract win comes in same week it was announced that more than 7,500 members
of the RMT union are to strike next Wednesday at Network Rail over pensions.
