One in eight undergraduates is choosing business studies, making it the UK’s most popular degree subject.
Equal second in a list, which was compiled by the Higher Education Statistics Agency, are social studies and biological studies, both taken up by 9.2% of students.

The figures all refer to the number of students taking a first undergraduate degree. Of these, the proportion doing business studies actually fell from 13.5% in 2002, when it also topped the list.
