Businesses have been warned to check they have a valid TV licence before allowing staff to watch Wimbledon at work over the next fortnight.
Extra teams of enquiry officers from TV Licensing, the body responsible for collecting licence fees, will be working throughout the tournament. Firms flouting the law could risk a trip to court and a £1,000 fine.
Last year during the football World Cup, more than 31,400 people in businesses and homes across the UK were caught watching TV without a licence.
