The
Capita Group has been awarded Regional Business Award for Employer of the Year
in the North West for its customer contact centre in Darwen, Lancashire.
The
company said offering a stimulating and supportive environment to staff, which
includes the latest technology and bi-weekly ‘Let’s Talk’ sessions, was the key
to its success.
The
Let’s Talk sessions give staff the opportunity to air their views and opinions
on the centre’s operational activities.
The
centre deals with TV licensing customer enquiries and transactions on behalf of
the BBC. It is open six days a week and
employs more than 300 staff.
Denyse
Metcalfe, managing director of Capita’s TV licensing contract, said the company
acknowledged that staff were vital to attaining high standards of customer
service.

“This
is a great reward to staff at every level who have made the contact centre a
commercial success and such a fun place to work,” she said.
