Usually done as a series of three-day blocks within a specified period. It can also be taken in the evening or afternoon.
No formal qualifications are needed, but candidates are typically working in a personnel department or aspire to a career in HR. Line managers who want to gain personnel skills are also eligible.

This is very much the entry-level HR qualification, equivalent level to NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Personnel Support. It lays the foundation for further professional development in HR and leads to Affiliate membership of the CIPD. It should enable individuals to take the Postgraduate Certificate in Management for Personnel and Development course but doesn’t automatically qualify them for the Professional Development Scheme.
