The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has announced that it will make its HR Profession Map available to the entire HR profession in October.
Currently a members-only resource, the tool provides a framework of core skills, knowledge and behaviours for HR professionals to help guide them through their careers.
The map is based on research and consultation with the profession, in organisations across a broad range of sectors and sizes worldwide, and has been continuously updated by research and feedback from HR practitioners since its launch.
The document is designed to be a “dynamic and live document” created “by the profession for the profession”.
Peter Cheese, CIPD chief executive, said: “We see making it available to all as a next step to ensuring the profession can gain maximum benefit from the work we have done.
“By taking this step, we are committed to making it as easy as possible for professionals, as well as other international bodies representing HR, to engage with us and to ensure that efforts to build HR capability for individuals and organisations remain up to date, dynamic and internationally relevant.”
