An
inquiry into the loss of thousands of call centre jobs is to be launched by the
Commons Trade and Industry Select Committee.
Martin
O’Neill, chairman of the committee, told the Independent newspaper it would be
part of a wider inquiry into the failure of the IT revolution to deliver jobs.
"We
will be raising the issue of the removal of UK jobs to call centres to places
like India," he said.
