A scheme which aims to retain staff, attract younger employees and cut down on sickness levels was launched by Hertfordshire County Council last week, with the help of DfEE funding.
The council, one of 68 UK organisations to be granted money from the Government’s Worklife Balance Challenge Fund, will spend the £20,000 on flexible work initiatives.
Schemes under Hertfordshire’s "Life Wise" project include: Workwise, examining homeworking and remote working; Healthwise, looking at ways to create healthier lifestyles; Carewise, to help employees balance work and caring commitments and Options, a flexible benefits package to suit lifestyle and life stages.
