Coventry City Council’s 40 part-time youth workers are to walk out on 5 February, affecting 22 youth clubs.
This will be the 11th time they have walked out in the current dispute, making it the longest-ever industrial action by youth workers in the UK, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

The dispute has arisen because of council plans to cut salaries, reduce hours and outsource some services to the private sector.
Unite union youth spokesman Doug Nicholls said: “For some of our low-paid members, these new contracts will mean a £10,000-a-year reduction in salary”.
