The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has become
the first Whitehall department to provide customised management training to
staff at their computers.
This means its 8,000 staff will now be able to access a wide range of
support and development material from their desks.
Lynda Sanders, learning and development manager at Defra, said the
implementation of the customised support and online training has enabled the
organisation to change quickly, without any disruption to the service.
"The key to managing our transformation effectively was our ability to
provide tailored support to managers when they needed it," she said.

"This enabled them to carry out the day-to-day changes quickly, making
a real difference to our work."
Sanders said the learning, provided by Goodpractice.net, has also enabled
Defra to upskill its workforce much more easily.
