Occupational nursing within the Government’s public health agenda was the
subject of a day-long workshop in Birmingham last month.
Led by prominent members of the profession, the debate focused on the
strategy document Making a Difference published last summer and looked at how
the occupational health profession could contribute to putting public health

"Occupational health nurses were given a golden opportunity to voice
their views and opinions in relation to practice, education and future
strategy," said the English National Board’s Jan Maw.
A follow-up forum has been arranged for 20 January, at which the workshop
facilitators – the ENB, SOHN and AOHNP – will meet with the Department of
Health to discuss further strategy developments.
