Dotcoms are planning pay rises of nearly three times the
national average in an attempt to retain staff.
A survey by Hay Management Consultants shows that base
salaries in dotcoms are set to increase by 9.7 per cent on average, compared
with an average projected increase across the industrial and service sectors of
3.6 per cent.
The base pay of the heads of dotcoms will rise sharply, with
an average increase of 13.6 per cent.
Iain Smith, management consultant at the company, said: “Dotcoms
are being forced to increase base salaries by percentages above the national
average to remain competitive in the war for talent.”
