East Midlands business signs up snowdrop for HR software

by Personnel Today 20 May 2008
by Personnel Today 20 May 2008

East Midlands Business, a provider of business support services to SMEs, has bought HR software from Snowdrop to centralise employee information and reduce administration.

EMB will be using Snowdrop Evergreen and U-Access to manage the data of its 250 employees across 6 main sites in the east midlands.

The system will also link to Sage Payroll.

The decision to deliver Business Link branded services regionally resulted in the transfer under TUPE of 150 employees to East Midlands Business Limited in April 2007, at which time there was no single HR database to hold employee information.

As a result an HR system was immediately required to capture all TUPE data and ensure access to real-time information.

Through implementing Snowdrop, EMB’s HR team anticipates creating a ‘one-stop-shop’ for data that will enable it to easily co-ordinate employee activities across sites.

Access to sophisticated reports will also ensure that EMB can track and analyse a range of business critical information, such as absence and headcount data.

Snowdrop’s U-Access module will be rolled out in three phases: phase one will provide employees with access to personal details, with phase two allowing access to other areas, such as holiday entitlement. In the final phase line managers will be given access to subordinate details.

Sangeeta Lad, HR Officer for EMB, comments: “Snowdrop is a powerful HR tool that will help to streamline processes through effective information management and help develop a one touch payroll with Sage, to improve business performance.”
