Ambulance
workers in the North East have begun industrial action in a dispute over pay.
The
action includes an overtime ban and a refusal to provide emergency cover at
certain events.
The
union Unison says the North East Ambulance Service plans to stop paying staff
during meal breaks, even though they are still on call.

employer says the new pay proposals, which come from the Government, are better
