Rachel Krys has been appointed director of the Employers Forum on Age (EFA), replacing the long-serving Sam Mercer.
Mercer has moved on to take up a new role at membership organisation Business in the Community after seven years leading the campaign group.
Krys has been at the EFA for the last five years, in the role of head of communications. Prior to this role, she was brand manager at charity Age Concern.
She will be responsible for identifying key campaign issues with the 250 EFA members and for the forum’s relationship with the government and media.

She will also be heading the recently formed Employers Forum on Belief.
Krys said: “While age discrimination laws have been in effect for more than a year and good progress has been made in some areas, as the legislation beds in and tribunals start to come through, employers are looking more than ever for sound advice and support in managing an age diverse workforce.”
