E-learning company Fuel has acquired Wide Learning, following a £1.4m
investment from entrepreneur Stanley Davis.
Although both are leading developers of bespoke e-learning programmes, there
is little overlap in their targeted client bases.
Fuel is a specialist in content for corporate induction, product, sales and
software applications for a range of markets, while Wide Learning has focused
more on regulatory, compliance and business skills e-learning for financial and
professional services sectors.
"This will enable us to maximise the return on our resources and make
further inroads for both brands and other markets," says Steve Dineen, CEO
and founder of Fuel.

Davis, one of two private entrepreneurs to invest in the company, who sold
the UK’s largest independent share registrar, IRG, to Capita in 2000, believes
corporate e-learning to be one of the fastest-growing sectors within the
education market.
