Paul Kenny, London regional secretary at the GMB union, has been appointed to act as general secretary until a new general secretary is elected or Kevin Curran is restored to office.

Curran was suspended from his post as general secretary earlier this month following an investigation into irregularities during the union’s leadership election.
The investigation into any alleged wrongdoings by Curran is ongoing.
