Socpo has launched a guide to the standards of practice expected of its
members when recruiting and training a multicultural workforce.
Socpo president Alan Warner said the Diversity Code of Practice will ask
members to look at the way they operate, and ask how they could do more.
It offers advice on identifying areas for further personal development, how
to influence others and communicating diversity plans to member organisations.
Socpo will be giving awards to its members based on their skills in diversity
and the impact these have on their organisations.

Warner said the guide would appeal to the HR profession’s natural
willingness to make progress and lead the field. "The public sector leads
on equality and diversity, but people have to ask how we can move on," he
said.
