A
hotel in Brighton has adopted flexible working to make the most of the town’s
part-time student population.
The
De Vere Grand hotel offers work at regular fixed times throughout the week to
allow students time for studies.
Working
arrangements such as shifts on three afternoons and one morning each week allow
students to study or enjoy hobbies.
“Many
organisations are only just waking up to the realisation that flexible working
patterns are essential these days,” said HR manager Peter Maskens.
“At
the Grand we have long recognised that flexibility is one of the key factors in
attracting and keeping good staff – which means better service for our guests.”
