Two high-profile human resources (HR) posts were filled last week, with computer manufacturer HP and security firm G4S appointing senior people.
Jane Keith, who has headed up the HP services division in the UK and Ireland since 2005, becomes the firm’s people development director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Based in the UK, she will be responsible for talent management, career development, diversity and performance management across the region. Keith has held several HR roles at HP since joining the organisation in 1994.
Meanwhile, Valerie Dale was made HR director at G4S Security Services. She was previously head of HR at a subsidiary of Rentokil Initial, responsible for supporting more than 34,000 staff across the UK and Northern Ireland.
G4S managing director Doug Hewitson said: “We’re very happy to have appointed someone of Valerie’s experience and capability.

“With a workforce as broad as our own, HR is vital to ensuring the smooth functioning of the business, and we’re confident Valerie will prove more than adept at meeting the challenge.”
She replaces Liz Ogden, who had been with the company since 2002. Dale said: “Moving to G4S will offer a major challenge given the size and scope of the workforce, and it’s one I’m very much looking forward to.”
