Staff are being encouraged by the Government to blow the whistle on
employers they suspect are breaching health and safety law.
The HSE’s Workers Web Page, thought to be the first government Internet site
aimed specifically at workers, informs people of their rights and encourages
them to make formal complaints and report anything they think poses a risk to
health.
"We are laying a foundation of knowledge that will help to make our
workplaces safer places to be," said Health and Safety Commission chair
Bill Callaghan.
The number of people killed at work rose by more than a third last year to
295.
