The Health and Safety Executive has
released two publications to help employers provide more effective safety
training for staff.
The guidance applies to all
organisations but will be of particular help to smaller firms.
Health and Safety Training – what
you need to know provides
pointers on how effective training can be delivered as well as advice on the
law and where to find further information.
The second publication, Effective
Health and Safety Training is a trainers resource pack designed for use in
conjunction with overhead projection or handouts.
Timothy Walker, HSE director general
said: "Employers have a legal and moral responsibility for the health and
safety of their workforce – and effective training is central to this.
Employers, in consultation with workers, are key to driving up standards and
improving the working environment."
