This book is a practical guide to developing virtual teams, written by two authors who not only have expertise in developing virtual teams, but have been or still are part of ‘real’ virtual teams in the research and logistics fields.

It is well-written and has a large number of tables and diagrams throughout.

It is split into five parts: how technology has made virtual teams possible; the various organisational, technological and human factors that must be considered; four real-life case studies; a ‘manual’ of 12 guidelines and details of other books and websites for more extensive reading and research.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

This book would be very useful for any HR manager who has been asked to project manage the implementation of a virtual team as it not only goes through all the processes and contributing factors in detail, but it also highlights the things that can go wrong.

The one thing I didn’t like were the black and white pictures. They may not be clear to some people.

Personnel Today articles are written by an expert team of award-winning journalists who have been covering HR and L&D for many years. Some of our content is attributed to "Personnel Today" for a number of reasons, including: when numerous authors are associated with writing or editing a piece; or when the author is unknown (particularly for older articles).
